Annie Clark made her debut as St. Vincent in 2007 with 'Marry Me' and quickly became regarded as one of the most innovative and compelling artists in modern music. After 'Actor' and 'Strange Mercy' she won in 2007 with her fourth, fifth and sixth albums won multiple Grammys and now her seventh: 'All Born Screaming'.
This one she produced herself and shows St. Vincent at his most primitive. 'All Born Screaming' is equal parts spiritual abandonment and delightful acceptance. "If you're born screaming, that's a great sign," says Clark, "because it means that you're breathing. That you're alive. My God. It's joyful. And it's also a protest. We're all born out of protest in some way. It's terrifying to be alive, it's ecstatic to be alive. It's everything ."
